Three more maternity units opened

USAID Afya Uzazi Chief of Party Dr. Boniface Maket today joined Baringo Governor Stanley Kiptis, Health Services CEC Mary Panga other leaders and communities at the official opening of maternity wings at three dispensaries in Baringo North. The health facilities started offering maternity services after receiving equipment and technical support from USAID in a partnership with the county implemented through Afya Uzazi. Mothers will now deliver their babies closer to home after the opening of the maternity at Barbardum, Tunowo and Kiptum in Baringo North. With USAID support, Afya Uzazi is working with the county to improve the quality of health care, especially for mothers and children, at close to 200 health facilities in Baringo County as well as in Kuresoi North and South sub-counties in Nakuru.
