Afya Uzazi Chief of Party joins Governor to welcome US Ambassador

Afya Uzazi Chief of Party Dr. Boniface Maket joined Baringo County Governor Stanley Kiptis and other leaders to welcome the US Ambassador Kyle McCarter to the county in Kabarnet town on Tuesday December 10th. Dr Maket briefed the Ambassador and his team on the achievements of the partnership between Afya Uzazi and the county government. Governor Kiptis commended USAID from supporting programs in the county. He said Afya Uzazi had contributed to improving access to quality health for the people of Baringo.

Over the past three years, through Afya Uzazi Program, USAID has invested about US$7 million to support various activities and interventions aligned with the county’s strategic priorities as outlined in the County Health Strategic Plan. USAID Afya Uzazi technical assistance and financial support is provided based on work plans developed jointly with the County and Sub-County Health Management Teams. Broadly, this support focuses on strengthening leadership and governance, improving quality of health services offered and empowering communities to seek the health services and promote disease prevention.
